About Apogee Consulting, Inc.

Apogee Consulting, Inc. is a Subchapter S Corporation, legally registered in the State of California. We qualify as a small business under applicable Federal regulations.

"Nick is knowledgeable about a variety of subjects ... he can apply business rules and legal doctrine when required. Nick is a go-to person who gets the job done ... In short, I am confident that Nick is one of the best in the industry ..."

-- Jeffrey Weiner, Regional Contracts Manager, CH2M Hill Corporation, July 2009

We specialize assisting Federal government contractors with all facets of contracting, from proposal preparation to contract close-out. We have a deep understanding of the Federal statutes and regulations that affect government contractors, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its agency supplements, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and the audit programs of the Federal oversight officials (e.g., DCAA). We assist contractors in structuring indirect cost allocations and in calculating the resulting indirect cost rates, in preparing annual final indirect cost rate proposals, and in evaluating potential changes to existing structures. Before and after award, we assist contractors in establishing "adequate" internal and operational control systems and implementing self-governance compliance monitoring processes, including supporting both internal and external audits as Subject Matter Experts. We work with contractors on program management and supply chain management, helping to deploy predictive/leading risk indicators and in evaluating current program status as well as Estimates-at-Completion. In the back office, we work with accounting, finance, and contract management teams to accurately recognize revenue under SOP 81-1, to generate accurate invoices and contract financing payment requests, and to collect payments. Should problems arise in program performance, we work with contractors to resolve audit disputes, to prepare/evaluate Requests for Equitable Adjustment, and (if necessary) to prepare Termination for Convenience settlement proposals. Finally, we work with internal and external counsel to support internal hotline investigations, disclosures to the U.S. Government, and to support litigation matters, where we act as experts.

"Nick is a true expert in his field and is recognized throughout the country and the federal government contracting world as such. Nick is detail oriented, creative and delightful to work with. He provides immense value. I use Nick's services on a regular basis and his work for me has helped me prevail easily in varioius federal government inquiries." September 1, 2009

-- Jan Richmond, Esq., General Counsel, PRIDE Industries

"Nick was a decisive factor in bringing a complicated lawsuit to a successful conclusion. He applied his extensive knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) to provide critical analysis of the adverse claims and our counter arguments. We remain impressed with Nick's ideas and his ability to make them understood."
